Marvel’s big annual event wraps up this week. The next few reviews will be of “Secret Invasion: X-Men,” “Secret Invasion: Front Line,” “New Avengers #42-47,” and Secret Invasion: Home Invasion, all of which are now complete. The remaining unreviewed tie-ins (with the “Secret Invasion” brand, rather than “Dark Reign”) will be reviewed as they come out, followed by a review of the entire miniseries as a whole.

Dr. Horrible coming to DVD-R (legally)
During the writer strike, Joss Whedon teamed with his brothers to bring us Dr. Horrible’s Sing Along Blog in what was a web-only format. The three episodes could have been purchased through iTunes at the time, but after that first week of availability, they disappeared. Now, Amazon.com has an exclusive on the production through their DVD-R media, due December 19, which can be preordered here. Why DVD-R? I haven’t tracked down a press release, but I suspect it’ll be a limited time offer once more, and the DVD-R option avoids overstocking on unsold copies.
‘Caprica’ (the Series) Gets the Green Light
Sci-Fi Channel has ordered 20 hours of the BSG prequel ‘Caprica.’ Filming on the series will start in 2009, with a 2010 premier date. The miniseries airs next year (I can’t find a specific date).
Watch the preview for the miniseries here.
Weekly Comics Discussion – December 3, 2008
The complete list is available here. Due to the holiday last week, many locations won’t be getting their shipments until Thursday instead. I had a sick coworker yesterday, so that extended my workday past the point where I could review “Secret Invasion: X-Men” as planned. If my LCS gets the shipment today, I’ll review “Secret Invasion #8” tonight and catch up on other reviews later in the week. If not, then I may not be able to get this week’s order until Friday, in which case I’ll review “Secret Invasion: X-Men” today and “Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Season Eight #16-19” tomorrow.

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles– Review: “Self Made Man”
This “CSI: Terminator” episode showcases the acting talents of Summer Glau and Thomas Dekker– with very different results.
Heroes Discussion: “The Eclipse, Part Two”
The solar eclipse continues to cast shadows on the hero’s abilities, the Petrelli Brothers and the Haitian play Rambo, Noah goes after Sylar and Elle, Matt plays counsellor and hopes for a speedy resolution, Hiro learns the importance of comic books and he travels in time again and, in a highly original twist, we’re left wondering if the cheerleader will die.
Secret Invasion Review – “Secret Invasion: Inhumans”
Tomorrow I’ll review “Secret Invasion: X-Men,” and get the Secret Invasion reviews caught up just in time for “Secret Invasion #8” to hit on Wednesday.

Weekly Digital Disc Picks – December 2, 2008
It’s crunch time in these last few weeks before
Christmas, so we see fewer releases, but those we do
see tend to be of high average quality compared to the
rest of the year.

Weekend Review: Spacehunter: Adventures in the Forbidden Zone
The real Clone Wars occurred in the late 70s and early 80s, when numerous low-budget SF films fought to be mistaken for the next Star Wars. One such film is our final Weekend Review for November– so grab your popcorn, your 3-D glasses, and a drink to blunt your critical sense, and scope the screen.
