Comments Blaine: I saw this one a while ago. DeNIro and Freeman steal the show. It’s corny and predictable, but if you’ve seen the trailers and wanted to see it, check it out. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen a movie trailer that so accurately represented the film using footage exclusively from the first half of the movie. I don’t know if it’s worth owning, but if you’re tempted to rent it, don’t hesitate.

Finally, the picks of the week. Alex says, “This is a really poor week. The Shaw Brothers films have caught my interest, but otherwise, unless you’re following Nura: Rise of the Youkai Clan, I’d recommend giving this week a miss.” Blaine says, “aside from the Universal Oscar Winning rereleases (Apollo 13 and the like) this week is entirely worth skipping.”

  1. Cloudy 2 is really the only thing new of note here. We’ll be renting it first but will most likely end up buying it.

Some of those re-releases are decent movies but just repacked. There may be many, many plot holes in Wanted but I still found it highly enjoyable, Ted was much funnier than expected, Snow White and the Huntsman was alright (though I found Mirror, Mirror to be more enjoyable overall, they both had merits). Those are worth a rental at least but those inclined to rent them probably already have (or Netflix, HBO, etc…)

I want to get Ender’s Game but I’ll be waiting for physical media.
