Category: TV Series The team tracks down an escaped mental patient. (Sorry if you caught the description of "Shock" earlier; for some reason, the official site is posting a description of next week's episode instead of this one.)

Agree. This has a lot of potential, and reminds me a lot of Odyssey 5.

Fifteen minutes into the show...
Well, I was totally bored and I stuck around until the end, and it DID end with a little twist that at least kept me from thinking this thing was a total waste of time. But pretty darn close. I am talking, of course, about the transdimensional metal fragment, not the bondage babe in her undies. Or maybe not. I dunno, this thing is just a very cheap X Files ripoff with CSI overtones. It's not really any different than the old 1960s "Invaders" - one initial show with some UFO special effects to set up the premise, then nothing but silent guys with stiff little fingers to represent the aliens. In this case, wet-T-shirt zombies, this week with shovels and a treasure map. This show is turning out to be almost comedic. "Can you beat them?" "Don't worry, we have a plan". And every week we do pullbacks that show somehow the bad guys are already infesting all of DC, or that they've been here all along infecting people for 20 or 50 or 100 years.... Threshhold Project. The top-secret branch of FEMA. Be afraid, be very afraid...

And I say again, converting the native population into yourself is not a smart invasion. Unless, of course, you're turning them into strong, mindless slave fodder....

That Sucked

I was really hoping that this show would show that it was Berman, and not Braga, that truly made Star Trek suck. I was wrong. Seems to me this show is mirroring a lot of problems that Enterprise had (i.e. inability to stay consistent, more emphasis on T&A than necessary, etc).

The premise was so good with alien trans-dimensional probes causing mutations, but the execution was absolute shite (triple helix doesn't work, at least not with the molecules involved in our DNA, and this is something a first-year biology student could tell them). The thing with the phones in the previous episode was bad enough, but then we hit this week, and I can just hear the producers saying "Oh noes! We can't make do with just these 7 guys! Let's move back earlier! The aliens is alreadies here!"

Also, I'm really sick of her damn hair - pick a cut/style, and stick with it. Every Damn Scene it's different, and that's distracting from the actual show - sure, it could be a side effect of her exposure to the probe, but I doubt it.

Dinkley and Spiner are really the only reasons I'm going to give this show another week, and unless they kill off superhair lady and make them the main characters, I'm ditching it too. I feel sorry for these guys - their talents are being severely underused, and every scene they're in they show just how good they are.

YOu know, one of the greatest flaws in this show is that three of the team was exposed in Ep 1, they are known to have weird theta brainwaves which are driving the people they interview to do weird things, and they are STILL in charge of the project. You'd think that the Plan would be for infected people to be pulled from leadership. I say put Data and Shorty in control and watch 'em kick butt.
