Sad day for bikini watching
posted by bombadil on November 15 2005, 7:04 am
Pretty poor episode for bikini watchers. Nothing from Not-Amanda-Peet and nothing from the jail-bait.

On the other hand, we had lots of exciting entries for Suspension-of-Disbelief watchers, such as a woman with a kid and a man with his own family deciding it's a good idea to drop to the bottom of the ocean sitting inside a rusty old oil tank without first testing their DIY repair job. Well, it's not like they could have known there would be electrical EMP bursts near the creatures that might mess up their support boat, the winch, the button for the inflatable life-raft, and their breathing equipment.

And hey, if I'm stuck on the bottom of the ocean, on the edge of a bottomless pit, with several tons of cable about to drag me into said pit, what I need, what I really need, is for the nut case with me to grab me in a bear hug and hold me immobile at that moment for absolutely no reason. 'Cause I wasn't feeling claustrophobic enough just then.

If he needed to cop a feel, he should've tried it when she was in the bikini.
Just saying...

Yeah, they're gonna survive that drop into the abyss... sure. Pressure? What pressure? That's the new top of the foodchain, shaddup about pressure!

At least the aquarium development seems interesting

Yea he is kind of nutty and obsessive, and I think that she realizes it but chooses to ignore it because she needs his help. I actually liked the final scene. Hopefully though they'll address the pressure thing. I mean, the windows were leaking before they even reached the bottom. Now they are free falling towards the centre of the Earth. How will they make it alive?
