    HUH?
I’m at a loss as to why Sci-Fi is doing this, unless it’s so that they can air the HD episodes on Universal at the same time.

It does seem odd. What’s going into its slot on Friday?

If this coincides with the first episode after the break though, at least it’s not as likely to hurt the viewing figures like a mid-run change would. But still… Galactica should be on Fridays!

I’m guessing it’s an attempt to draw viewers to Dresden Files. Just a guess though.

They coulda’ just swapped Dr Who to Sunday night and given Dresden that friday slot. Dr Who fans aer a loyal bunch (in general) and would probably watch it in any slot.

Of course, if it coincides with Stargate SG1/Atlantis return I guess it makes sence too… 5 hours straight (Heores, Dr/Dresden, SG1,SG-Atl,BSG) is a bit much even if it is all good. I bet Galactica’s fans are loyal enough to follow it too. ( I know ->I<- sure am)

I’d suspect that they are doing it to appeal to a wider group. After all friday night isn’t exactly the best time solt for non geeks. Plus with SG*, and the Dr they’ve got enough to fill fridays. This sort of thing is why I’ve got a S3 tivo.

It makes a lot of sense acctually … They’ve had a successful "block" of orriginal programming on friday nights for years, now they want to branch out and try get a good piece of the action on another night — especially now that they are adding some more orriginal programs.

When you put it in the context of the NBC/Universal empire, it makes even more sense — NBC doesn’t have a strong Sunday night lineup (especially once football season ends) so it’s the best night to branch out without a lot of risk to NBCs ratings. It also fits the new NBC mantra of "no expensive shows in the 8PM hour" … instead of 8-11 friday being stargate, doctor who, bsg, they can leave 8pm for reruns (Heros on friday, something elese on sunday) and do expensive shows from 9-11.

Trying to do what the Cylons couldn’t.

    Ugh.
Well, aside from BSG, just about the only shows I bother to watch also air on Sunday nights (Fox’s and Adult Swim’s lineups). And, since my TiVo is single-tuner, this is gonna be a damn conflict resolution mess.

Oh well, maybe they’ll get more eyeballs. Still a little annoying.
