Premise

Tony Stark opens up to a very private audience.

High Point

“Well, sir, if I may speak freely, he’s kind of a –”

Low Point

Haven’t we read all of this before? In the last two weeks?

The Scores

As I alluded to in the Low Point, this

doesn’t feel original because all of the character work has been

revealed and discussed in other issues in the past two weeks. There’s one

panel worth of reveal that’s actually new, though it’s easy to guess. I

give it 2 out of 6.

The artwork is by Maleev. Very stylized,

and very static, as usual. I give it 4 out of 6.

The story is minimal. We’ve got a

twelve page monologue and a six page rant. The other four pages have

people walking from one place to another. I give it 3 out of 6.

The characterization is what

this is all about. It’s all been revealed elsewhere, but it’s still well

done. I give it 5 out of 6.

The emotional response

would have been higher had I been a casual reader in the crossover, and

this had been new to me. As it is, I give it 3 out of 6.

The flow is hard to botch up when people just

sit and talk. Moving back in time does work nicely, though. I give it 5

out of 6.

Overall, it’s not a bad issue, but

it won’t show you much you haven’t seen if you’ve read Civil War:

Frontline and Civil War: The Initiative. I give it 4 out

of 6.

In total, receives 26 out of 42.
