All good things...

At least we know they're not just yanking our chains with the final shot of the Earth.

Here's to hoping they will end with a bang, and not a whimper!

Or maybe they want to milk the cow a little longer...

According to David Eick it appears that James Olmos may have jumped the gun a little... On the upside there are going to be 22 episodes in season 4, on the downside we're probably looking at a good deal of filler for at least more two seasons. At least the Lost team knew when to call it a day and start working towards going out on a high.

But I don't agree that the show is ready to end. I have enjoyed the existing shows immensely, and even it's worst shows have been better than anything else on television in my opinion. I would like to see a few more seasons before they go out. However, I would rather have only 1 more season with a proper ending than them pushing as many seasons as they can out then having to just cancel it without ending it correctly.

Babylon 5 effect???

This is strange. In the past few days to big TV series have now basically promised to give their viewers....

an Ending.

First Lost and Now Galactica. I can only hope that Babylon 5 had an impact in this. Many many shows I've watched have either botched or flubbed their endings. Many have thrown in a unecessary "punch" for dramatic effect that fails and leaves a bad taste in the viewers' mouths (hello St. Elsewhere, and Rosanne). Very very few have the kind of build up to the end that B5 had (true a lot was paid off in season for, but rewatch season 5, it has more in it than you think, once Byron moves off the show) and even fewer have the powerful final ep. like B5 as well (MASH is all I can come up with there).

I actually appreciate this effect because as a fan of Lost and Galactica I want them to end on the right note ... with feeling....
