Yes, this column is going up REALLY early this week. I'll be heading out of province for the weekend, so it's either coming up early or late, so I'm going with early. That'll give everyone the extra time they need to sift through an unusually long list, anyway.
Blue Hawaii: One of a whole heck of a lot of Elvis releases this week. I'm betting that someone out there is a big enough Elvis fan (or a person with a few minutes to hit Google or Wikipedia) to find out why this week is special for Elvis.
Brigitte Bardot Collection: Includes "Naughty Girl," "Love On A Pillow," "The Vixen," "Come Dance With Me" and "Two Weeks In September."
Elvis - The Hollywood Collection: Includes "Charro," "Girl Happy," "Kissin' Cousins," "Live a Little, Love a Little," "Stay Away, Joe" and "Tickle Me."
French Connection Boxset: Includes both of the movies and a bonus disc. It's a rerelease of a set I've owned for about six years, but they're good movies.
Finally, the pick of the week. I've got to go with the underrated and underappreciated Bubba Ho-Tep. If you haven't seen it, you owe it to yourself to change that.
The Muppet Show! And I've been waiting for S2 for a long time.
Lets see what The Simpsons had for S10. Oh my. Some of my least favourite episodes. In fact, there's only one that I'd REALLY like to have ("Thirty Minutes over Tokyo") and I'm not getting the whole set for that, I'm afraid. Then again, I also said I wouldn't be getting S9, and I did. So we'll see.
