Premise

In the present, Mohinder continues to reenact The Fly and Spider-man, Nathan Petrelli continues sixing it up with Linderman, and Hiro and Ando make a startling discovery.

Meanwhile, in the future, Mohinder has become the Phantom of the Opera, Claire has grown dark and gritty (and we can tell, 'cause she's no longer a blonde), several heroes have become involved, and Sylar has become a perfect angel-- until he goes nuclear.

The Review

The effects look really impressive, the acting is completely overwrought, and.... I cannot maintain interest in this show, so this week, I won't be offering a full review. I encourage you to offer yours below.

So how did future Peter die from being shot in the chest? Has he stopped absorbing powers? Otherwise he should be immortal like Claire. Wtf?

The Haitian was present when he was shot, presumably blocking his powers. Perhaps this is a limitation of the regenerating powers, if they are blocked when you are killed, no coming back?

Seems like that after the haitan was out of range he would come back to life, or something along those lines like when Claire was dead with that tree branch in her brain, then "re-awoke" when it was pulled out. This part would've happened in the morgue. Could be bad writing I suppose.

I thought at one point someone asked Claire how she was able to kill (future) Peter since he couldn't be killed, and I thought she responded that he wasn't quite dead. And I also thought the Company had some sort of IV drug that could block the powers? That is a vague recollection from some season1 scenes. Maybe the future villains have access to the same sort of drug.

No, when she said he wasn't dead, she was referring to Peter Past. Presumably, she either got him with a head shot, the Haitian negated his powers when he was shot, or he was incapacitated by the shots he took and then was subsequently killed by brain trauma. In any case, by the time we saw them both on morgue tables, Peter Present ("Evil" Claire's present) was dead.

Well in the case of Claire vs. the Tree Branch, her powers were not being blocked when she was "killed". So remove the tree branch, remove the problem.

What I'm saying is that perhaps the Hatian's power-blocking powers are sufficient to allow a healer to permanently die if they are having their powers blocked.

4400 plot thievery?
posted by Fez on October 7, 8:25 pm
My wife is convinced this whole season's plot was stolen from The 4400, and I'm inclined to agree.

Mohinder discovered Promicin. His wasn't such a pretty glowing green, though. :)

There were several other parallels as well.
