Discussion: Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles
posted October 7, 1:58 pm by Timeshredder

Category: TV Series

We've been griping about Heroes and wondering about Fringe, but no one here has been mentioning Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. Is anyone watching the show, which appears to be having a pretty good sophomore season? Should we post a regular discussion?

I'm really enjoying the style of the show. I first noticed it on the last episode of the first season. The played a Johnny Cash song, over a slow-motion sequence of terminator/SWAT team carnage. Last night they used a voiceover reading of The Wizard of Oz, as the cyber-violence was played out.

I've read some articles pointing out that John Connors is the weakest character in the series. John is supposed to be, his current wimpyness, contrasts Skynet's superior technology. In the future, he is the badass that defeats the robots, but now he is just a angsty teenager.

I agree, this show has a good style. I'm going to miss it when it gets canceled. While it's had its ups and downs, in general the show has been improving over time; these last two episodes, especially.

Will They Be Back?

Between every single commercial break this show ping-pongs back and forth from the sublime to the ridiculous and back again. If they could just get their act together and FOCUS this could be a GREAT show. However, rumors are rampant that FOX is disgusted with the low ratings this season and that SCC is about to be... wait for it....terminated.

I do agree, it is uneven.

....Chuck, and Big Bang theory win the three way tie that is that time slot. Fuck fox for moving it to monday.

I'm hearing on Slice of Sci Fi podcast that it's dead or almost dead already, because you know MNF decimates monday ratings anyway and ..

yeah,

I always find it funny when fox spends a lot of it's advertising energy putting promo's on during it's football games Sunday for a show that they know that football fans will not be watching because it is on against MNF.

It would kind of be like if ESPN put ads for it's sunday afternoon lineup on during episodes of "NFL Live".

This IS Fox we're talking about, right?

Isn't that what they do? Take a decent genre program, get people hooked, and then just cancel it? What more did you expect??

It's almost enough to just not bother watching Fox to start with. But for as long as its there, I'll hang in there...

Of course, as we know, the terminators have already won.
