News about Star Trek and any of it’s many spin-offs, movies, books, and more.

Star Trek: Discovery to end with Season 5

That’s a wrap, folks! Additional filming will be done to make the Season Finale and Series Finale. Not great, but it’s better than nothing. The series has been divisive, to say the least, but it was starting to get good.

It sounds like Paramount is going into cost-cutting mode as these shows are expensive. Picard will also end with its current season, leaving us with only Strange New Worlds as a live-action series (Lower Decks has a third season coming and Prodigy has a second coming).

I’m sad to see it go, it was ambitious and it did kick off a resurgence in Trek as a franchise.

I have but one request: Can we get a Jet Reno series? Please?!

Bureau’s Breakroom’s Television Table – Week beginning 2022 December 25

The offices may be close due to holidays (or the chilly weather,) but the Breakroom Television remains on for a Call the Midwife Christmas Special.  Doom Patrol spends some time with the Youth.  Speaking of the youth, Star Trek: Prodigy finishes its season. The Bureau hopes you can curl up with some loved ones and enjoy your holiday!

Last week, we missed the Guardians of the Galaxy’s Holiday Special being dropped, but if the breakroom has a ten year old kid who knows how to work the remote like mine, then odds are good it will be on the television at least once this week.  When we can wrest control back, Let The Right One In has Mark and Naomi going on a date.  Sylvester departs StargirlTitans get some blood between brothers.  Star Trek: Prodigy keeps its secrets.  The Peripheral is planting trees.  At My Hero Academia, there’s an outbreak of parasites.  If this wasn’t enough to keep you entertained, you can always catch up on Wednesday or Staged from last week.
