Have you read Landau’s “Foundations of Analysis”? This is a classic text (from the early 1900’s) that starts with the integers and goes through the real and complex numbers.
No, I haven’t. I’m writing February’s entry now, but I’m still looking for the exact route I’ll use to get to complex.
It’s available from Amazon and other places. Reading it would save you a lot of work.
I’ll try to track it down. The work researching these lessons is half the fun for me, though. ;)
