Smallville Season 6?

GrimSean
writes, Although I had thought that the plan was
to end Smallville with the current fifth
season, according to an interview that Televisionwithoutpity.com did with Al Gough, they seem to be planning a
sixth season (right here on page two).
With the upcoming deaths of major characters – not to
mention the complete turn to the Darkside for Lex – is
there really any point in continuing with
Smallville? There’s already been a
Superboy show, Lois and Clark covered
the Superman years (as did Christopher Reeves’
movies), so would there really be anything left for
them to cover? I’ve enjoyed this show for the unique
view it gave of Clark Kent’s formative years (not to
mention Allison Mack), and I respected the fact that
they had planned to only run for five years, but now
I’m not so sure.
I think that the thousands of comics with the
character show that stories can still be told. The
real question is, with Miller and Gough spending more
time in Florida on Aquaman, who will be the
person “on the ground” for Smallville?

1. Still skeptical about Aquaman…
I’ll give it a chance, like I did with Smallville. I was expecting Smallville to stink in a big way, but was pleasantly surprised. Maybe Aquaman will work out the same way, but the more I think about the character, the more it looks like it can’t work in the same way. Here’s hoping…

2. CW
It isn’t clear whether this interview was held before or after the CW announcement, which could make any deal they had with WB for a 6th season moot.

(And finding out that Aquaman will be shot in Vancouver makes me feel real sorry for the guy – that ocean’s got to be ccccold!)

The announcements I saw for the CW specifically mentioned Gilmore Girls, Smallville and Beauty and the Geek being moved to the new network from the WB.

The shows stated above (also including Supernatural) were all said to have the best ratings. And although it would be wise to add these, the CW network may not. These shows are only the WB’s hits. Not the CW line-up. An official release is due out on May 18th. Also season 6 is important. There’s far too much story line left to end it now. They’d end up mushing it all together and leaving too many questions (my opinion)

3. Try 7, if they can get there…

Looks like they’re trying for two more seasons, if they survive the move to CW.

From Kristin @ E! Online:

Meanwhile, Smallville, believe it or not, also hasn’t yet received a pickup for next season. "All along, we’ve planned on seven seasons, because that’s how long the actors are under contract," executive producer Al Gough tells me. "So, we’re hopeful we’ll get another season. We also have our new Aquaman, and I would assume Smallville would be paired with our own show, but you never know."

• Re: Try 7, if they can get there…
well it sounds to me like they have already made a 6th season of Smallville, and they are debating whether or not they will have a 7th season. We all know they are masters at dragging things on as long as they want to. How long have we all been waiting for Clark and Lana to hook up? Now she’s going to break up with him. What I want to know is how in the hell are they going to make Clark or Lois fall in love with each other? I guess that will happen in the next season(s). Anyway…the mysteries of SMALLVILLE.

Remember Clarke doesn’t fall for Lois until Metropolis when they start to work together, that’s when they will realise the chemistry between them

Well I hope they do pair the shows. There have never been a film or TV show with the origins of most heroes, from their birth to their destiny. I mean I’m a great fan of Superman, and if they don’t fall too far away from the character, I’d love to see the story evolve from smallville to superman and then starting with Aquaman make all the JLA live in someway.
There was never a film or tv show on the death of superman, when doomsday killed him, or on the parasite or brainiac. Not even with Darkseid. These are Supermans greatest foes, apart from Lex Luthor and Zod. There would even be Superboy (the ‘clone’), The man of steel, the eredicator, supergirl, Mongul, the Cyborg. I think it’s time to evolve from the usual TV shows like Lois&Clark to something really complete.

I think it would be great! There is a magnificent potential and a lot of creativity so hopefully I definitly will welcome any new season, since I got addicted to all the others. I will be patiently waiting for that time.

• Re: Try 7, if they can get there…
I think i have a great idea for season 7, i think when they end the smallville seasons. They should end it with clark kent wearing the superman custum for the first time i think that will be so kwl and it will be well good for season 7 or what ever season they end it on.

4. Smallville
I’m hoping that they don’t end smallville at season 5 and especially the way they ended, leaving us (the viewers) curious about how the hell Clark is going to get out of this one and will Lana ever know the truth about him. Even if the writers run out of ideas, which I doubt they are, just give me something so i can watch. When i first heard about this ‘Smallville show’ I was like "yeah right," now i’m addicted to it. I want to see more and especially season 6 and 7. I wanna know how they are going to get Clark and Lewis to fall in love. That I want to see

I dont think clark is goin to fall in love with lewis??? By the way when are they going to putting the 6th season of smallville on tv. I am a really impatient person and i cant wait to find out clark get out of the crystal and i really want to know if thats the last we see of Braniac "James Master" i really liked that character. Lets hope they never stop smallville

Just think some of the greatest loves start off with the same kind of traits as Lois & Clarke have. I think the reason they irratate each other so much is because they don’t understand why they have an attraction to each other considering they barely know each other. I think the reason Lois gets frustrated with Clarke so much is because he genuinely is a nice guy that likes to help people he thinks are in need, something Lois isn’t use to coming from growing up with a military dad, where she’s became independant, headstrong and has learnt to take care of herself. I think the reason Clarke gets frustrated with Lois is because she is so head strong and independant and would rather face problems on her own because she’s use to it instead of asking for help when she really does need it. They always say "love is blind" and until Clarke moves on from Lana he won’t notice Lois and the chemistry they already have. Chloe’s already noticed the chemistry between them in season 4 when Lois dunked Clarke in the water hitting the target with the football.

5. Smallville
I have heard a lot of people complain about how Smallville stretches to far from Superman and now I am hearing people say it can go no farther but people need to realize that Smallville has employed the beauty of a symbol.
A symbol is something that, no matter the face, always represents the same thing. Smallville has captured the symbol of Clark Kent/Superman and put a new face on it, telling original stories in a world never used before. The vastness of a symbol explains why super heroes worlds can differ from comics to the big screen to TV. Jonathan Kent is the best example of this. He lives in comics and in Lois & Clark, but in the movies and Smallville he dies. Therefore, Smallville can go wherever it wants for however long it wants.

Actually,in the orginal comics, the very first comic,Pa Kent does indeed die.And Smallville has been pretty loyal to the comics.

Actually, in the very very first comic (reviewed here) Kal-El grew up parentless in an orphanage. Early in the Silver Age (in the Showcase Presents volume I’m working through for review) both of his adoptive parents are dead. There have been many interations of the Superman mythos, with various life expectancies for both parents.

I completely agree, this show could go on forever. Theres so many stories they could do that could be related. Theres still more powers he needs to learn and practice before he moves to Metropolis.

6. lol smallville
i think smallville is a super tv show, it has all that tv show should have good actors and great efects, just i dont understand what is the point of a SUPERMAN RETURNS, they should at least w8 intill smallville has done his job bec this is the begining of the hero SUPERMAN! :(
i dont like louis and clark ..i think that show stinks like crap, everything is bad, bad acting terible efects
witch destroyes the vision of a super hero, i never considered louis and clark something seriouse, for me it was always like some kinda joke , but smallville has realy cought my atention and i APSOLUTLEY LOVE SMALLVILLE!
they should continue with it untill clark kent realy becomes a superman, and then make a movie , coz i think smallville seriously ROCKS!!!!! smallville is the best begining of our gratest hero of all times!! and i think its realy FANTASTIC!!!

• Fantastic Is An Understatement

It’s been ups and downs with the show, not to mention the myriad instances when scenes were so difficult to believe. There were illogical stories in Smallville but only a few of them ever got into solid scrutiny. The reason for that is — the actors never failed to portray what they had to portray, despite of the lapses in the story.

Tom Welling, for example, never forgot to show the real Superman, or what the real Superman should be. His acting is fundamental, but the character is overflowing with emotions.

Lex — indubitably a villain.
Lana — she can make the story twist in a lot of ways
Martha — her death is on queue…her duality between loving Jonathan and Lionel is still a conflict
Lionel — knows Clark’s secret. Would he be drawn to telling Lex his secret? How would this happen?
Lois — another big piece of the story..Would Lois and Clark bear a child? How?

i think smallville is a super tv show, it has all that tv show should have good actors and great efects, just i dont understand what is the point of a SUPERMAN RETURNS, they should at least w8 intill smallville has done his job bec this is the begining of the hero SUPERMAN! :(

I know what you mean about getting addicted. I bought all the seasons I could within 1 week because I couldn’t get enough of Smallville & Tom Welling. They made the right choice choosing Welling to play Clarke, he fits the superman stigma, he’s got the looks, the eyes, the body, the smile and the charm for a superhero that you can’t get enough of.

15. smallvile
season 5 left to many loose ends ift smallvile had ended at the end of season 5 with clark trapt how would it explain how clark becomes superman and how he beats zod

• Re: smallvile
there better b smallville to last for 2-3 more seasons. & tom wellin had better stil b d hero.

16. Smallville Season 6
I can’t wait for season 6. Smallville isn’t ready to end yet. It needs at least 2 more seasons to go. I guess I didn’t keep up with Season 5 very well about James Marsters’s character. I thought he was Zod but I didn’t know he was Brainiac. That kind of confused me. I hope some point in Season 6 or 7; they let the young Bruce Wayne to be guest star on Smallville that really would be awesome if they do that. I think they should do be a sequel TV series of Smallville called Metropolis: The New Adventures of Superman or something like that. I just don’t believe few of you think Lois & Clark The New Adventures of Superman is full of shit, whatever!!! Lois & Clark is my #1 best Live-Action Superman TV Series ever and Smallville is my 2nd best Live-Action Superman TV Series ever. I have all 3 seasons of Lois & Clark on DVD & I can’t wait to buy season 4. Also I have all 4 seasons of Smallville on DVD & I just pre-ordered season 5. Another thing, I can’t wait to get Superman Returns on DVD. To let you all to know that I have the other Superman TV/Movie series on DVD too and they are the 4th original films starring Christopher Reeve, Superman The Animated Series, and Justice League (Justice League: Unlimited). I also own few Superman comic books. You probably can tell that I really do keep up with most of the Superman franchise if even some of you don’t think so.

I think that they can keep this going as long as they want. You would think that Clark would have some college behind him in order to walk into a reporter position at a newspaper. Not to mention the fact that they have already made it so that they are going to have to "erase" basically everyones memory of Clark’s powers in order to fit into the flow of the Superman stories. If they didn’t do this, anyone that knew him as an adolescent would recognize him as Superman. (He doesn’t wear the incredible glasses disguise in Smallville.) Plus it would fit that he chose the daily planet because he already had feelings for Louis. They can, and I think they should, take this series right up to the first Christopher Reeves movie. That would make this series the first to do this and open up the door for other movie phenomena to be made into series in the same way. It could happen……

• Re: Smallville Season 6
But in the first Superman, Clarke didn’t know Lois when he went to Metropolis, so really the 2 don’t connect. So there for Smallville could follow into Metropolis giving the story a new perspective

17. Smallville was always ment to run 8 seasons…
They said that a long time ago, and even said that if the show was getting good ratings, and the dvd’s were still selling like they are now that they might take it to a 9th or 10th…

This was one of the main reasons why the WB wouldnt let Tom out of his show contract to do the movie, and why they went the way they went.
The show is a cash cow for the WB, and believe me the show will be around a long while.

The movie may have bombed but the show is where the WB makes it’s real Superman money right now…

18. More seasons of smallville. There is a point!
Of course there is a point to MORE Smallville seasons. They’ve only just scratched the surface to the lives & adventures of Clarke, Lex & Lois. Think about it. We’ve seen a different angle to their lives and where their relationships stem from. Never before were Lex & Clarke friends in the past, this gives the stories a whole different persective which is fresh & different (all the things your looking for in the show.)Never before did Lois know Clarke before he went to Metropolis, that gives the relationship between Lois & Clarke a whole new angle. The relationship between Lex & Clarke in the past is what will make Lex even more of a challenging enemy in the future. Myself & alot of others are anxiously waiting and hoping to a continuence of Smallville into Metropolis, because the story of Superman does not stop in Smallville. It’s only just begining!!!!!!!!!!

He flew in season 4 as Kalel and in season 5 as himself when he disarmed the missile that was meant to destroy Smallville in the "Mortal" episode, so he should definently do some more flying. P.s I loved that episode that was gun.

look man, i think that the episodes are great but the only thing that makes it sometimes boring is that they don’t focus enough in c.k"s powers(i mean that there is not enough action, despite of action there is a olt of drama). If the producers did an episode with c.k. fighting with some vilian and used his powers for 10′( i don’t ask much) then i think this episode would be great

I actually used to think the same thing. But then, the fact that C.K. is not using all his powers, made me want to watch more episodes, hoping that someday there will be an episode where C.K. uses all his powers. Honestly, I think if they started doing that, the episodes will become even more boring as time goes on.

21. Withdrawal symptoms
I can’t wait for season 6, I’ve been hooked on Smallville since the first season. With the way Season 5 ended, its enough to drive any fan crazy. Theres so much more that has to come. How will Clark return, will he ever tell Lana the truth and not have to undo it, will we see him fly more often – for we should…
To see him evolve from a small town farm boy with superhuman powers to superman will be unbelievable.

23. How I think the season should end
Hey everyone!!! I have been watching the show for a long time and I have seen every episode so far… Now I was thinking about how the show should end and I think it would be awesome if the show could lead into the justice league. I mean they already had the flash, aquaman, cyborg, and a couple of other famous heros on the show (supposibly they are even going to bring batman on there or so they say on other site…)So with introducing all these heros I thought it would be easy and be a cool thing to do… plz… commet on what you think

24. Cut his hair and call it "Metropolis"
Honestly, this series is far too successful to just "die off" when they might have predicted it would – loid and clark is out-dated. This series really brings superman to life and I can only hope that it tells the story of Superman from beginning to end – I dont really care how they do it.
